Day one of racing in Dalby Forest and the sun shone! If competition in the Junior and under-23 races was anything to go by, Sunday's main event will be a thriller to rival 2010.

Kenta Gallagher exits Worry Gill at speed, and goes on to ride the notorious rock steps.
British under-23 Champion Dave Fletcher had home ride of the day - finishing sixth.
Fletcher - exhausted following a victorious sprint finish with 2010's Dalby World Cup Junior winner Michael Van Der Heijden.

About the Event
The UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike World Cup is a 7 round series that visits South Africa, Germany, Canada, Czech Republic and Italy as well as Yorkshires Dalby Forest. The UK leg of the series is the second round of the series and takes place in Dalby Forest in Yorkshire, a Forestry Commission area renowned for its outdoor pursuits facilities. This weekend festival of Mountain Biking begins in Pickering on 20th May, finishing on Sunday 22nd May. The World Cup is an important part of the qualification procedure for the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
